Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir was formed in 1947 by the then Headmaster of Derwendeg Primary School, Mr Iestyn Evans and the village Ladies Club. The type of music performed by the Choir is wide and varied and is constantly being updated. We sing:
A founder member of the Welsh Association of Ladies Choirs, Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2007, making it one of the longest surviving choirs in South Wales. The choir is proud of its past, but is looking forward to an even brighter future. The choir has performed throughout Wales and the UK and there are plans to go on tour in the near future.
